Here’s how!

But before that it is important to know the different stages for New Registration Applications:

• Pending for Processing – When a new registration application is filed successfully and it is pending with the Tax Officer for processing
• Site Verification Assigned – When application for registration is marked for Site Verification
• Site Verification Completed – When Site verification report is submitted by Site Verification Officer
• Pending for Clarification - When Notice for seeking clarification is issued by Tax Officer
• Clarification filed – Pending for order - When clarification is filed successfully by the applicant
• Clarification not filed – Pending for order - When clarification is not filed by the applicant
• Approved - Application is Approved - When GSTIN and password is emailed to applicant
• Rejected - When new registration application is Rejected by the Tax Officer

To track status of registration application after logging onto the GST Portal using Temporary Reference Number (TRN), here’s what you need to do:

• Click the Services - Registration - New Registration option
• Select the Temporary Reference Number (TRN) option & enter the TRN received
• Enter the Captcha details and click the PROCEED button
• In the Mobile / Email OTP field, enter the OTP you received on your mobile number and email address.
• OTP is valid only for 10 minutes
• Click the PROCEED button
• The My Saved Application page is displayed. You can check the current status of the application under the status column or through the services tab – Track Application Status
• You will receive the ARN (Application Registration Number) that can then be used for tracking the status of GST registration application until GST Certificate and GSTIN is issued by the Government

To view status of your registration application without logging to the GST Portal, here’s what you need to do:

• Access www.gst.gov.in/ URL, the GST taxpayer portal home page is displayed
• Click the Services - Track Application Status option
• Track Application Status page is displayed, select the Registration option from the Module drop-down list
• When the application is submitted, a unique reference number is generated know as Service Request Number (SRN)

Please note:
• In case of ARN: On submission of the registration application on the GST Portal, you will be given an Application Reference Number (ARN). You can track status of your application by tracking this ARN
• In case of SRN: On submission of the registration application on the MCA Portal, you will be given a Service Request Number (SRN). You can track status of your application by tracking this SRN
