Join me on a solo walk to Pembrokeshires Highest Point - Foel Cwmcerwyn 536m above sea level
Foel Cwmcerwyn is the highest point of the Pre
rk although it is 10 km from the sea. A path leads to the summit from the village of Rosebush in the south-west. A trig point and a number of cairns are dotted across the summit area, and there is a disused quarry on the hill's western slopes.
Parking at the mentioned Village of Rosebush the walk takes in the Rosebush Quarryand a small section through the Pantmaenog Forest - Slate was extensively quarried here, and was exported by the Narberth Road and Maenclochog Railway, which was later extended towards Fishguard. Today, Rosebush is a centre for exploring the Preseli Hills.
Pantmaenog Forest - The National Park Authority has agreed with the landowner to provide public access to 12km of forest tracks. Pantmaenog is a privately owned forest managed primarily for timber production.
