Just a quick proof of concept showing that you can survive the first drop into the Majula Pit at 768 HP. I used a base level sorcerer wearing only the Silvercat Ring. You have to walk off as slowly as possible in order to survive. As you can see in this video, any forward momentum will lead to your demise.
