2024 marks the 10th anniversary of India’s Act East Policy, which governs New Delhi's relations with the Indo-Pacific in general and ASEAN countries in particular. First announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 13 November 2014 at the 9th East Asia Summit held in Myanmar, the policy has since added newer dimensions such as security co-operation. It has also brought East Asian countries within its ambit. The ASEAN countries appreciated India's Act East Policy at the recently concluded ASEAN -- India and East Asia summits in Vientiane, capital of Laos.
