Updates on the Syria gas attack on April 4th.
Samples obtained by French intelligence show that forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, had undoubtedly used sarin nerve gas in an the attack in Idlib.
France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault made the allegation earlier today, citing a declassified report.
He said France had discovered from "a reliable source" that the manufacturing process of the sarin gas found, and sampled, is typical of the method allegedly developed in Syrian laboratories.
Assad has strongly denied he was behind the attack.
Ayrault's allegation followed a statement by United Nations' chief investigator on Syria, Paulo Segio Pinheiro's, who stated that most victims killed in the attack were by conventional weapons, and not chemical.
The commission had found out that, while the sarin gas was present, there was a series of air strikes that hit local medical facilities.
