Since 1994, Fingal County Council has been the Local Authority for North Dublin. We look after a County that has seen massive growth in 29 years.
Our population of 329,218 is one of the fastest growing and youngest in Ireland. Our citizens live in Urban, Suburban, Rural and Coastal Communities, where our retail sector provides their every need and our Beaches, Parks and Trails give them places to enjoy.
Fingal is Ireland’s gateway to the World and represents the New Ireland. It is young and diverse, confident and dynamic and proud of a rich Heritage that goes back centuries. Our farming and fishing Communities feed the nation and our businesses drive the Irish economy.
Fingal is home to Industry leaders, working in a modern Connected business Environment, with a highly educated and diverse workforce. As the county has grown so too has Fingal County Council. We now have 40 councillors representing seven electoral areas and a staff of 1,600 highly committed people delivering over 920 services to our communities.
Our annual budget has grown from €47 million in 1994 to €330 million in 2023. Our current capital programme will deliver 266 projects worth €989m as we continue to build our County and make Fingal the best place in Ireland to live, work, visit and do business in.
