This video shows the purpose of distribution steel bars in RCC slab.
Slab is a flexural member which is subjected to bending stress and usually two types of steel bars are used in the design of rcc slab, these are main bars and distribution bars. In case of one way slab distribution bars are used to resist the shrinkage stresses, creep stresses and temperature stresses. For more details watch the video.
