This is the Nowland Street level crossing at Quirindi, New South Wales, Australia. It is located between Muswellbrook and Werris Creek on the Main Northern line.
When signals were first installed at this crossing in November 1970 there were no gates, just four signals with McKenzie & Holland lights. In February 1987 two of the original signals were removed and replaced by these gated signals which had Westinghouse lights, Harmon gate mechanisms and Westinghouse hybrid bells. The bell on the eastern side rang from start up until the gates had lowered, then rang again while the gates were rising. The bell on the western side rang continuously from start up until the gates had risen.
As of early 2017 the crossing had been upgraded with new signals, with all of these old signals being ripped out and replaced.
