Only 126 mountain lion assaults in North America during the last century have been documented, 27 of which have been deadly. Despite their rarity, these assaults are nevertheless terrifying. Even the most seasoned outdoorsman finds the notion of having an apex predator lock its teeth on the back of his neck while screaming in panic to be terrifying. When a #mountainlion does surface, it's often too late since they frequently go undiscovered.
