Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
Lung cancer is the most common form of cancer in Yorkshire. The mobile lung screening units are part of a collaborative approach between charity Yorkshire Cancer Research, Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Leeds Lung Health check and will provide screening to 7,000 people in a bid to detect the early signs of lung cancer.
NHS England have recently announced a £70m investment in lung health checks which will be carried out in supermarket car parks. The Leeds Lung Health check initiative is featured in the NHS England video, with a tour of the unit and interview with Dr Matthew Callister.
