Voice Transcript:
- My name is Margaret Manning, and I'm a Digital Entrepreneur.
- My name is Laura Bonner, and I am the CEO of the Muff Liquor Company.
- My name is Paula Heaney, and I am the Founder of Skinny Malinkys cold-pressed juice.
- My name is Darragh Everard, I'm the Managing Director of Eirkoo and Cantillon. The reason for relocating to Barbados was that I wanted to experience the life, that I'm trying to introduce to our candidates. And I believe that basing myself here in Barbados gives me a platform to visit other countries here in the Caribbean, which will allow me to properly educate people on what the differences are between living in the different countries.
- So I have come on the 12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp, And it just means that people who can work remotely from anywhere in the world can actually come and stay here for three, six, nine, up to a year. In the first two weeks, I was still a bit uncertain thinking, is this actually possible that I can work remotely, but I do the exact same Irish hours as soon as I do from home. I'm finished by lunchtime, and then I'm on the beach by two o'clock. So I've made definitely the right decision.
- It came at a perfect time in my career, I was looking for new opportunities, new ideas, new innovations. And it struck me that because of the welcome stamp, Barbados would be filled with like-minded individuals.
- There's people here running multinational businesses, SMEs, there's people working remotely for all sorts of different types of businesses.
- Most of the island is fibre wired, I always have 4G. On the islands, I feel super safe, I really, the people are so lovely, genuinely friendly, to anyone even considering coming out here for a few months let alone a year, the only thing I can say is do it.
- It is an incredible experience. If you can, if you do have that opportunity, just take that leap. It's incredible, you won't regret it.
