To stop at the right spot, use your side mirrors as reference points. Align them with the stop or broken line. If these lines are not visible, use the edges of the road. This works for going straight or turning right.

For turning left, position your car diagonally near the corner and look for the line below your mirror. The height of the line depends on how sharp the turn is.
