Gian Merlino is a co-author of the open source Apache Druid project and co-founder and CTO at Imply. Gian is also the Apache Druid Committee (PMC) Chair. Previously, Gian led the data ingestion team at Metamarkets and held senior engineering positions at Yahoo. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Caltech.
Anush Kumar serves as Vice President of Technology at Expedia Group. where he leads the Intelligent Services organization that’s responsible for delivering Virtual Agents, Conversations & Communications, Travel Journey Context & Retail Affiliates as part of the EG Travel Platform. In this role, he and his team are focused on building innovative self-service experiences at scale across all of Expedia Group’s iconic brands such as Expedia, Hotels, Orbitz, VRBO etc., helping better serve the needs of customers & partners with highly relevant, personalized interactions.
