How much your engine will need depends on how thoroughly you were able to drain the crankcase.
After completely draining, I recommend adding one quart and checking the level frequently afterwards, to ensure the engine oil level is not overfilled.

Before working on engine or equipment, disable the engine as follows: 1) Disconnect spark plug lead(s). 2) Disconnect negative (-) battery cable from battery.
