'They are not only preaching but also converting people. They are using magic, illusion, and healing to influence people. I am hopeful that the Assam government will take action against religious conversion and also formulate an anti-conversion bill like the Himachal Pradesh government just did', says RP Singh (BJP).
But Congress is again denying the facts by saying that this is only the BJP's political vendetta. That meeting was religious; there was nothing about conversion there.
Remember,The Assam government launched the largest ever crackdown in recent times against conversion activities. In the past few months, nationals from Bangladesh, Germany, and Sweden have been deported after the government found out they were carrying out religious meetings and activities while on a tourist visa. Times Now has access to images of gatherings led by Swedish nationals in upper Assam. In a local church, they held gatherings. These nationals visit India on tourist visas and visit local churches and help religious gatherings perform conversions on local people. They try to influence people toward conversion. Now government took strict action against these nationals.
