Rishi Ramberran’s kids were 11, nine and five years old when the pandemic began and mandatory masking came into effect.
Two years later, it’s largely a non-issue. Still, the Winnipeg dad wonders if it’s making things harder on his kids.
“Humans, we thrive on interactions and much of that is facial recognition and playing off each others faces,” Ramberran tells Global News.
Psychologist Michele Morningstar says luckily, people interpret emotions other ways. “Children do have access to all these other cues they use to infer other people’s emotions,” she says.
