Breaking News: The Supreme Court has stayed the Karnataka government's move to eliminate the 4% Muslim quota. The court also ordered the state to maintain the previous regime until May 9. The Karnataka government informed the Supreme Court on Tuesday that it will not act on its March 27 order to eliminate the 4% Muslim quota in the OBC category in job and education. A bench of Justices K M Joseph and B V Nagarathna considered a submission made on behalf of the state government by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and scheduled the matter for hearing on May 9.
