Biennial plants have a two year life cycle: in the 1st year they put up foliage, and in the second year they make their flower sand go to seed... if they survive the winter... and that's the catch. If you want to save seeds from your biennial plants, you have to get them through the winter, which can be difficult in colder climates. For example, where I am, carrots never seem to survive the winter. In this video I show how I create microclimates to allow my biennials to survive the winter.
