The Severn Valley Railway Spring Steam Gala marked my first major gala visit of the year. As usual the railway ran an intensive timetable, with a mix of full line, local, and goods trains throughout the day.
As 2015 marks the 50th Anniversary of the SVR, the railway aimed to bring in engines that were related to the line in some way. Four guest locos were brought in, although only two had actually been seen on SVR metals before, previous resident No. L92 (5786) from the South Devon, and previous visitor Coal Tank No. 1054 from the Worth Valley. The two debutants were Dubdee No 90733, also from the Worth Valley, and GWR No. 4270 from the Gloucestershire Warwickshire. They all ran alongside the home fleet to kick off the anniversary year in style. The full line up was:-
