Malaysia has been ruled by the same coalition for more than six decades and many predicted this would remain the case after voters head to the polls on Wednesday despite a massive corruption scandal embroiling the Prime Minister. But in a contest riddled with peculiarities, from unholy alliances to allegations of massive election fraud, the gap is tightening on Prime Minister Najib Razak.
