Due to school and campus closures related to COVID-19, the “hands-on” learning opportunities provided to our students have been suspended; experiential field trips, internships, in-classroom speakers, and career fairs will not be possible in the foreseeable future.
However, our local industry professionals are aiding the community with efforts to provide a quality virtual career exploration to our high school and post secondary students.
The Polk Vision Talent Pipeline Team in partnership with Central Florida Development Council, Polk County Public Schools Career Academies, and our many post-secondary partners have been working together to produce a virtual series titled Career Insights.
Each Career Insights segment is focusing on a specific industry and is featuring an accomplished Polk County professional. These industry pros are joined in an authentic, career-focused, virtual conversation with high school and/or post-secondary students, recent graduates and/or young professionals. By recording these sessions we have a library of local professionals discussing careers and that are immediately accessible by teachers, college and career counselors, and students.
