Histories are often written by the ‘winners’ of wars, or those that are in positions of power. It is easy to use history to influence perceptions of oneself, the‘other’, and an event or process. It can be drawn upon to legitimize certain types of actors, policies and behavior. How do we separate the truth from the falsity? How to prove the validity of historical “facts”?
