The crowd continued to build at the makeshift shrine in Martin Place, as workers leaving the office made their way to the site and many more people travelled from all over Sydney well into the late hours of the evening to pay their respects and reflect on the unspeakable tragedy. Some patiently lined up to place more flowers, to sign the condolence books or to simply look on and pay their respects. The common thread, a respectful reflective silence as they stood and pondered the tragic events which had taken place just a few metres up the road just a few hours before - most still in utter disbelief the place they now call home had its innocence lost amid a volley of gunfire in a cafe.
