In the late 1990's at a conference of the Black Managers Forum held in Stellenbosch, a delegate rose to propose the establishment of a Black Economic Empowerment Commission. The proposal so tabled was carried and accepted and Cyril Ramaphosa was appointed to head the commission much research and thinking went into the process. Nana I am happy to tell you that in this regard I did my civic duty and participated till the very end and was present when the commission presented its report to government at the Sandton Convention centre in 2000.
