On graduation day, we spoke to Ashly about her experiences and why she decided to study the Social Sciences BSc course at IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society.

Ashly reveals that her mother's life and work during a difficult time in 1980's Colombia was a major source of inspiration for taking the course, giving her the opportunity to delve into the broader societal issues at play.

Studying sociology and social sciences has also opened up the possibility of entering the world of policymaking and government, Ashly adds.
