Gilgit Baltistan region has converted to Islam some 700 years ago. Before that this region was home to Buddhism. This is a massive Ancient Buddha Rock near Skardu City. It is a thousand of years old beautiful piece of art and culture. Unfortunately, some religious maniacs tried to destroy it some years back however ancient stone and carvings are still intact with some visible wear and tear.
