Many would-be enthusiasts have simply tapped out and quit their search due to unattainable prices for cars that used to be 50% of their current prices only 3 short years ago.

Enter the Porsche 912, especially with a souped up motor. This 4-cylinder powered 911 lookalike has been a largely ignored by air cooled 911 snobs who have felt that unless a rear-engined classic Porsche has a flat six motor, the car just isn't for them.
