Experts from the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) give an overview of Blue Hydrogen and Carbon Capture: the unmet promise and financial challenges.
IEEFA’s research has important implications for local, state and federal policy decisions on the future of Hydrogen.
Specifically, the experts discuss:
- The important choices that policymakers must make about the energy transition
- Questions about the full costs and impacts of fossil-fuel-based hydrogen
- The real-world track record of carbon capture
- The strong market forces that are diminishing the economic future of fossil-fuel-based hydrogen and how “blue hydrogen” projects are likely to fall short of economic promises.
