"The first deliveries (of oil through the Odessa-Brody pipeline) will go to Gdansk - to Gdansk, and not only to Plock. Plock is located in central Poland, Plock is the largest Polish refinery, and of course it is very important to us what will be transported into our country. But we also want to show that, in this case, Poland also serves the interests of others - of Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan - as a transit country, a country that links Europe. And especially its north-western part, more so than the southern. There are other routes to that part."

11. SOUNDBITE (Ukrainian) Viktor Yushchenko, Ukrainian President:
"I do not see a big problem in voting first for the prime minister, and then for the whole package (of government ministers). However, we should avoid a situation where, in the course of voting for other government seats, the coalition creates frictions on this or that issue which might lead to a split in the spirit of consolidation."

STORYLINE
Polish President Lech Kaczynski met his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yushchenko for talks in the Ukrainian capital Kiev on Thursday, as part of a two-day visit.
The focus of their meeting was energy security, and the extension of the Odessa-Brody pipeline to Poland, which was built around Russia to deliver Caspian oil from Azerbaijan to north-western Europe via Ukraine and Poland.
Kaczynski stressed that Poland wants the pipeline to reach not only the central city of Plock but also Gdansk on the Baltic coast.
"Poland...serves the interests of others - of Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan - as a transit country, a country that links Europe. And especially its north-western part," Kaczynski said during a news conference.
Kaczynski and Yushchenko are expected to travel to Odessa on Friday and visit an oil terminal at Yuzhny port,
Yushchenko, meanwhile, encouraged people to vote for Yulia Tymoshenko to be Ukraine's prime minister.
"I do not see a big problem in voting first for the prime minister, and then for the whole package," Yushchenko said.
Acting on a proposal from the newly formed government coalition, Yushchenko asked the parliament to approve Tymoshenko, the presidential office said in a statement.
A vote was expected later on Thursday.
The nomination follows a deal struck last week by Yushchenko's and Tymoshenko's parties to forge a fragile majority coalition, raising hopes for an end to months of political turmoil.
