The U.N. peacekeeping chief on Tuesday urged the Security Council to push South Sudan's political rivals to engage in a meaningful peace process. Faced with a deteriorating security and humanitarian situation and a peace deal that has struggled to take hold, Jean-Piere Lacroix told the 15-member body that the country's leaders bear the responsibility of ending the bloodshed in the world's youngest nation.
