Who's ready for a tree tent camping adventure? In this video, we kick off our road trip around Atlantic Canada with a stay in a rather fun and unusual AirBnB: a suspended tree tent in the forest on the shores of the Saint John River. This one to be precise: 🏕️. [ Ссылка ]
Sam and I spent a weekend exploring a beautiful area just outside Fredericton, New Brunswick, where we went hiking in Mactaquac Provincial Park, enjoyed some mouthwatering dishes at Moco Kitchen, and then slept outdoors in a Tentsile Connect tent suspended above the ground. That's this tent right here: ⛺ [ Ссылка ] ⛺
We did a bit of hiking in Mactaquac both days, tackling the Alex Creek Trail, Beaver Pond Trail, and the Little Mactaquac Trail. This provincial park is a woodland area that sits along the shores of the Saint John River. It has lots of different hiking trails, a golf course, a campground, a beach, a marina, plus some fun activities like treetop trekking.
On our first night there, we had dinner at Moco Kitchen which is located inside Mactaquac Provincial Park. The restaurant is located in the Golf Course Clubhouse and they have some mouthwatering dishes featuring fresh, local ingredients. Sam and I both knew what we were ordering before we even got there! I got the seafood pasta with scallops, shrimp and haddock, and Sam got the fish and chips. The food was wonderful! Also, Sam couldn’t resist dessert when the menu came around, so he got us a slice of carrot cake with cream cheese icing, and a turtle cheesecake with chocolate, caramel and pecans...it was just too hard choosing between his two favourites.
We then went back to our campsite, where we had a pretty good night. Sleeping in a tree tent takes some getting used to - it feels like you're bobbing on the water ever so gently. We put the rainfly on since the wind had picked up and there were some dark clouds rolling, but I don't think it actually rained. Even with the rainfly on, there was good air circulation in the tent. It never got too hot or too cold. We both put on an extra layer at night, but we weren't cold by any means! The verdict: tree tent camping is pretty cool and we'd definitely try it again!
