STORYLINE:
Two white lion cubs born on Thursday at Belgrade Zoo in Serbia, on Friday made their first public appearance.
White lions are a rare mutation of a species found in South Africa, and are traditionally considered divine, and it was thought to be lucky to meet their gaze.
But in the wild they are facing extinction.
There are only around 200 left in the world, and Belgrade Zoo has six of them.
The latest arrivals are doing fine, said Maiga Hamadahamane, the zoo's veterinary surgeon.
Two white lion cubs were also born in Belgrade Zoo on December 9 last year.
The rare breed has not been seen in the wild since 1994 in South Africa, and is now deliberately bred in zoos.
