Today:
Sunday begins with scattered thundery showers across the country but most places are dry with sunny spells and variable cloud. It's been very warm and humid overnight.
Through the rest of the day thunderstorms will break out widely across England and Wales with severe thunderstorms braining torrential rain, severe lightning, thunder and hail moving northwards through the afternoon and into the evening. Some of these storms will bring torrential with a risk of localized flash flooding in places. Scotland should stay mostly dry until tonight. Temperatures range from 20C to 25C - feeling very warm and humid.
Tonight:
Thunderstorms and longer spells of thundery rain pushing northwards from north Wales and northern England to Scotland while drier weather follows along behind with low cloud and murk likely. Temperatures will be warm and humid at 12C to 19C.
Tomorrow
Torrential thundery rain clearing from Scotland through the morning with sunny spells developing elsewhere leading to sunshine and scattered thundery showers through Monday afternoon. Temperatures 20C to 25C.
Outlook:
Tuesday: Thundery showers in the north with thunderstorms of longer spells of thundery rain in the south and east. Warm.
Wednesday: Thunderstorms in the north and west but drier in the south and east. Very warm.
Thursday: Mostly dry with sunny spells. Very warm.
