Tuition fee increases at tertiary institutions for the 2016 academic year will not exceed 6%. The announcement was made by Higher Education minister Blade Nzimande after a meeting with universities and student bodies. The South African Union of Students, which represents all SRC's, says the proposal will have to be canvassed with students at University level for approval.
