Jaipur (Rajasthan) July 10 (ANI): The Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot in a virtual ceremony laid the foundation stone of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Mother Care Unit in 17 hospitals of 11 districts of the state. With the completion of these works, there will be an increase of 531 beds. This includes 270 beds in ICU, 208 in NICU, 33 beds in PICU and 20 beds in Mother Care Unit. These health facilities will be developed at a cost of more than Rs.94 crore.During the programme Chief Minister Gehlot said that Rajasthan is emerging as a pioneer in the field of health services due to the continuous efforts of the State Government. People from other states are also coming to Rajasthan to take advantage of medical facilities available here.The CM said that it is our endeavor that the medical facilities in the state become even better, for this, the medical infrastructure is being strengthened continuously from city to villages.Speaking on the situation of Corona in the state, the Chief Minister claimed that we fought the first and second wave of COVID-19 by taking all sections of the society together. Bhilwara and Ramganj model got recognition in the country and the world and other states also adopted it. In the second deadly wave, there was a problem with the supply of oxygen, medicines and the beds.
The CM Gehlot said that taking lessons from this government is strengthening medical facilities from medical colleges to CHC-PHC level so that if the third wave comes, we do not have to face any kind of problem in combating this pandemic.(JA)
