The Code of Hammurabi, a Babylonian legal text created nearly 4,000 years ago between 1755 and 1750 BCE, was surprisingly ahead of its time in certain instances. Besides having laws addressing subjects such as property rights, divorce, and the prohibition of incest, it also mandated minimum wage.
