Let's go over the steps we took to UV print on Polycarbonate material to create warning labels for our machines.
Step 1: Use the RIP software to print the custom templates directly to the bed of the UV printer. We created templates specifically sized for the text design we are printing. Keep in mind, you'll want to create your template with a bleed around the edges.
Step 2: Place the Polycarbonate material inside each template. Depending on the size of your print and how much you'll be printing will determine how big each template will be and how much space of the bed you'll use.
Step 3: Print the art, design, or text onto each template even including a background color!
Step 4: Add adhesive strips to each of the Polycarbonate pieces and it's ready to be applied to machines or other surfaces.
There are a few benefits to second surface printing on material like polycarbonate and with a UV printer, it's easy to do.
