17:00 A Bad Demonstration (but it's my first day!)
I hoped to demonstrate all 150 sound programs in a future video, HOWEVER YouTube user "esgibtsie" has done a video already.

I'll do mine too, eventually, trying to look for high- and low-pitch areas for unusual sounds.
You can download the Owner's Manual at

QUICK COMMANDS: These are essential for quick change-ups during live performances!
--Reverse Order: To scroll through menu items, press the fnc (Function) key repeatedly. To scroll through menu items in reverse order, hold down the snd (Sound) key and then press the fnc key.
--Scroll Through Sound Program Categories: To scroll through entire sound categories at a time, hold down the snd (Sound) key and use the Value slider or press + or - to step to the start of the each category of sound programs: Leads (LD), Acoustics (AC), Basses (BS), Chords (CH), Sound Effects (SE), Drum Kits (DR), and Patterns (PT, or in other words, rhythms).
--Arpeggiator Type: To select an arpeggiator number quickly, hold down arp (Arpeggiator) key and scroll or step through on the Value slidebar. Press the arp button once to turn the Arpeggiator on or off.
--Loop Length: To quickly change the loop length, hold down Loop button I or II, touch your finger anywhere on the Value slidebar and slide left or right to change. You may roll your finger left and back (in a measured way) during loop play for a breakbeat or beat-cut effect.
--Loop Load/Save: To go quickly to the Loop Load/Save menu, hold down the fnc (Function) key and press either the Loop I or Loop II button. (To actually delete unwanted loops or audio, you must go to the Audio Player menu).
To get quickly to the Utility menu, press fnc (Function) once, hold down snd (Sound) and press fnc again. Press the center of the Value slidebar to start, and press fnc to scroll forward through the utilities, or hold snd and press fnc to scroll backwards.
To return to the main sound selection menu, just press snd (Sound) from anywhere.
WHAT I FORGOT TO SHOW:
Tap: Instead of selecting a particular bpm (Beats Per Minute) in the BPM Function menu, tap the center of the Value slidebar in time to the music whose bpm you want to match. It is not perfectly accurate; adjust to the most likely whole-number value if necessary.
Built-In Speaker and Mic: There is a built-in speaker, which I did not demonstrate. Plugging in earphones (or a line out) will cancel speaker function.
You can use the built-in microphone to add your voice or sound samples to a loop. Hold down the Mic On button on the left side of the Kaossilator and press Loop button I or II to record.
With a plug-in Mic, when first plugged in, the Kaossilator will ask if you want to power the mic through the Kaossilator or not (if it is a self-powered mic with batteries or a power supply.) For either a plug-in mic or the built-in mic, press and hold the Mic On button and adjust input volume with the Volume see-saw button on the right side.
SOME IDEAS FOR SWITCHING LOOPS:
--Record very similar rhythm parts in I and II, as identical as you can, but then add different drum accents and supporting sounds in each. If you play an instrument solo, press both Loop buttons simultaneously to shut off I and start II for example, for exciting rhythm variations.
--Two different chord progressions: Record the same rhythm but with notes in different chords, and press both I and II simultaneously to change, in order to imitate melodic songs. You have only two sound banks, however. The large Kaossilator Pro has four sound banks and may be more suited to make covers of popular songs.
WHAT I HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT YET:
--There is no way given to copy the sounds from sound bank I to II or vice-versa, if you want to quickly create similar variations in each sound bank.
--There was a hack on the original Kaossilator to combine both the Fixed and Unfixed sound bank to make one single soundbank to handle 16 beats. (You held down the Loop and Tap/BPM buttons while turning on the power. The letters "dLy" appeared. You could then change Loop Length up to 16. However, the Unfixed sound bank disappeared, meaning all your overdubs were added and could not be cancelled. Also the beat-number disappeared from the display.)
I don't know if it can be done on the Kaossilator 2; has anyone figured it out? It would probably make only one giant sound bank instead of two 8-beat ones. BUT the Owner's Manual says not to touch buttons or touchpad while turning the power on, so how can it be done?
