A group of Haryana farmers met agriculture minister Narendra Tomar and accepted in writing that they want the new farm laws to stay, but with amendments. Thousands of farmers have been protesting against the farm laws, seeking their withdrawal for months. The letter signed by the Haryana group stated that they were in favour of the MSP and mandi system, but want these laws to continue with suggested amendments. Govt's 5 meetings with the protesting farmers have failed to break the logjam as farmers have refused to settle for anything less than the withdrawal of the laws.
