After practicing on some scrap sheet metal with my Lincoln flux core welder, I finally mustered up the courage to start welding the quarter panel on the rusted quarter panel issue I've been dealing with. I had to remove more wheel well rust with the angle grinder and the whole panel replacement just made sense in the end. A huge help in making the auto body rust repair was the use of my flange tool. It helped me line up the new quarter panel in the damaged car panel section. I took my time, made sure not to overheat the surrounding panel, and overall I am happy to say this isn't an ordinary amateur car repair. The civic rust will hopefully never return, and this repair will definitely help in the preparation of the car for paint. The hatchback rebuild has been going fairly well so far with small hickups. Be sure to check out my previous videos and subscribe. I plan on casting a voting opportunity to select my cars future car color. Currently, I have two colors in mind and will think of a third and share with you all. After I complete the driver side repair I will be moving on to painting the underbody and frame with POR15 sealer and will start working on bodywork. Body filler will be an exciting step for myself because the car will really start to take its shape. The long nights have been paying off and this garage built Honda is going to turn some heads when it's done.
