Onboard a short European flight from Glasgow, Scotland, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, with low-cost carrier EasyJet, onboard one of their Airbus A320neo's. I was onboard one of the EasyJet A320neo's that was in the "NEO livery", which I thought was pretty cool, being onboard an aircraft with a special livery that is all about the aircraft! This flight was the start of a 2 night holiday in Amsterdam with my brother, for my 18th birthday, so I could so some plane spotting at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on my 18th birthday, which was the day after this flight.
Kicking this journey off at Glasgow Airport: Glasgow Airport is a very good airport to fly from! Staff are friendly & professional, security is easy to get through, & there is a good amount of shops & restaurants at Glasgow Airport! The views of the aprons from the gate windows are also brilliant, so any aviation enthusiast will be pleased! The boarding process was smooth & we were able to get ready for departure fairly quickly. The flight departed from runway 23 at Glasgow Airport only 10 minutes behind schedule at 11am. Once airborne, we starting climbing to our cruising altitude of 37,000ft (FL370). Not long after departure, the crew commenced the food & drinks service. On this flight I only bought a can of sprite (which costed £2.30) & nothing else. As this was a fairly short flight, lasting roughly 65 minutes, it wasn't long before we started descending into Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, AKA, plane spotting heaven. We landed onto runway 18R, which is the "polderbaan" runway at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, & we arrived 20 minutes early at 1:05pm (local time). After parking at the gate, I asked if I could visit the flight deck, but I was unable to because there was going to be some inspections done in the cockpit after the flight. Once we arrived at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, all there was left to do was go through passport control, then we were in Amsterdam.
All in all, this was a pretty average EasyJet flight. Just a simple flight from A to B, with a beverage & duty free service, which is all I expect from low cost carriers like EasyJet. The crew onboard this flight were very friendly & professional, & the seats were very good in terms of comfort & legroom. I wasn't even sat in an extra-legroom seat, yet the legroom was still good for someone who is roughly 6ft tall! Something that made this flight a little special was the aircraft was in EasyJet's special "NEO livery".
