In this episode, we learn about Materials Assignment and Replacement comprehension using SV and GM nodes in Blender 3.0.
With SV nodes, you can easily assign different material colors into polygon face of an object using random index numbers.
In Blender 3.0 Alpha, we actually have GM "Select By Material", which can be assigned as Attributes and also used further being used to Delete Geometry or Scatter Points and Instances based on assigned Materials of geometry polygon face.
If you want to do this random material assignment using Geometry Nodes, it is also possible simple by juggling the Material Assign and Selecting Random Polygon Face. Give it a try!
