In this HWFE exclusive, James Beard Award nominee, Top Chef contestant and a San Francisco Chronicle “Rising Star Chef,” Chef Tu David Phu brings a personal take on Vietnamese cuisine to the table. Chef Phu’s menu was inspired by his own cultural and experiential journey.

An Oakland-born, first-generation Vietnamese-American, Chef Phu finds that food is a vessel for meaningful work that can ultimately connect people on a personal, familial and human level. For Shifting the Lens, he built these connections with guests, leaving them with new insights into the importance of representation and how it shapes our culture.
