STORYLINE:
Colombia kicked off the 13th Ibero-American Festival of Theatre on Saturday with a giant street parade in the capital, Bogota.
Despite drizzly conditions, colourfully-dressed performers and spectators alike were enjoying the festival atmosphere.
"This is spectacular, it's really beautiful, it's a good show for everybody, locals and foreigners," said Ricardo Soto, who turned out to watch.
More than 60 theatre companies from 34 countries have been invited to this year's festival, which runs until 8 April.
Local theatre groups are also expected to take part in the event, which has previously drawn more than 100,000 spectators.
More than 1,000 performances are scheduled in the upcoming two weeks in venues across the Colombian capital.
Street theatre will also make up a large part of the festival programme.
