You can cycle from Forest Gate in east London to London Bridge in central London in about 40 minutes, almost entirely on quiet streets and protected cycled lanes.
The route is about 6.6 miles long (10.6km) and makes use of one of Newham's new low traffic neighbourhoods, Cycleway 2, a short section of Cycleway 3, and the new London Bridge cycle lanes.
The 40 minute journey time is roughly as long as it takes to make the same journey by public transport.
