Buses from Delhi to Dharamsala and McLeod Ganj run throughout the day from ISBT Kashmiri Gate. Apart from this, you can also book Volvo bus from Delhi to Dharamshala. One thing to note is that if you are going to McLeod Ganj from anywhere. Buses go only till Dharamshala bus stand, beyond that you have to go from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj by Sharing Taxi or HRTC local bus. Mcleodganj is about 10 kms away from Dharamsala. Bus fare from Delhi to Dharamshala or McLeodganj ranges between 700rs to 1400 or 1500rs. I went in off season so I had to pay 700rs for Volvo.
Now the question comes that where can you stay in Dharmshala McLeod Ganj trip. Several hotels are available in Dharmshala as well as in McLeod Ganj. But you can prefer to live in McLeod Ganj. McLeod Ganj being in the height from Dharamshala, McLeod Ganj has very good views. Along with this, McLeod Ganj has quite a lot of cafes and beautiful attractions to roam around.
First of all, let's talk about the best tourist places of McLeod Ganj. First of all you can visit Bhagsunag Waterfall in Mcleodganj which is about 3.5 kms away from Mcleod Ganj square. Bhagsunag Waterfall has become a small and lovely picnic spot.
1 kilometer before Bhagsunag Waterfall is Bhagsunag Temple which is a famous and ancient temple of Mcleodganj. Bhagsunag Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Nag Devta. There is also a water tank inside the Bhagsunag temple complex and a swimming pool adjacent to it. So you can come here and swim before or after worship. Bhagsunag Temple and Bhagsunag Waterfall both are the main tourist attractions of Mcleodganj.
Namgyal Monastery is the next name in the list of best places in McLeod Ganj. Namgyal Math is the largest among the rest of the Bhuddist monasteries. It is said to be the private monastery of the 14th Dalai Lama. Its foundation was laid by the 2nd Dalai Lama.
The next tourist attraction of McLeod Ganj is Dal Lake which is about 3km away from McLeod Ganj Square.
Next is St. John in the Wilderness which is 1km away from Mcleodganj square. This is also one of the main attractions of McLeod Ganj. Whether it is for shopping or for food, McLeod Ganj is the best option.

If you are on a trip to Dharamshala and McLeodganj, then there is a beautiful hill station Palampur where you can go. Palampur is about 30 kms away from Dharamshala. There are many big tea gardens to visit in Palampur. The quality of tea of Palampur is famous all over the world, hence Palampur is also called the tea capital of North India. You can also see an ancient and famous Baijnath temple in Palampur. Baijnath Temple is about 16 kms away from Palampur. Baijnath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, it was built in 1204 by two merchants Ahuka and Manyuka. The architecture of this temple is amazing. Every year thousands of devotees visit Baijnath Temple, Baijnath Temple is one of the major temples of Himachal Pradesh.
