Winter fly fishing can be incredible. On this day, Ralph Scherder from Dark Skies Fly Fishing and James Hill from Mountain Laurel Guide Service fish some big water after Christmas and encounter several very nice fish.
Keys for winter fly fishing:
1. Fish slow. Take your time and work the water methodically.
2. Adjust your rig to the water types. Take the extra few minutes to set up your leader, tippet, and fly selection so you can fish the water most effectively.
3. Wade carefully! Taking a dip in freezing water can shorten your day...and your life!
4. Enjoy being outdoors. It's always a good day to go fishing!
