Properties important to making a good mechanical sensor, such as gauge factor, self-healing, and having strong mechanical properties, can be seen within these hydrogels. Highly stretchable and tough hydrogels, with great adhesion strength and healing times, can be utilized for wound healing. The mechanical properties of tough, highly stretchable hydrogels can be used for drug delivery.
