He had a dream to build a small hotel, obtained the land, did all the excavation and once again, got piped by a sum of money he was due and needed to finish it being delayed by circumstances beyond his control, a worldwide pandemic, and a health issue he picked up and could not get addressed effectively. He had built a small bunkhouse to live in while he built the hotel, and it ended up his last home. Michael did not let that ruin him, he simply said it might not be what he wanted but he had a million dollar view, a white sand beach, and made himself as content as he could be.

One of the funniest people I had the pleasure of meeting. A high school graduate from Aviation High in New York, he was a certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic, and had an amazing breadth of knowledge about almost anything you could do with tools. His mind was quick, active and questioning. He was a conspiracy theorist, a believer in the flat earth and an intensely philosophical man, and loved to delve into the paranormal and metaphysical questions that no one knows the real answers to, he was not one to just accept what someone said because they said it. Not many can say they wrote a deeply thought out, sourced and documented book about a wild theory they had, but he did it.
