This is the One Rupee commemorative coin released in 1991 on occasion of Birth Centenary of Dr B.R.Ambedkar.

This was the first coin on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar minted only by Bombay and Hyderabad Mints, later in 2015, 10 Rupees and 125 Rupees coins were released on his 125th Birth Anniversary.

Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, also known as Babasaheb Ambedkar, was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination towards the untouchables. He was independent India's first law and justice minister, the major architect of the Constitution of India.

The coin is made of Copper-nickel center weighing 6 grams with 26 mm diameter.

On the obverse, Ashoka Lion capitol, denomination lettering भारत INDIA सत्यमेव जयते रूपये, 1 Rupee. On the reverse, Beautiful portrait with lettering डा.बी.आर.अम्बेडकर Dr.B.R.Ambedkar जन्म शती 1990 Centenary.

The value of the coin is approximate Rs 20 for UNC condition as it's a common coin.
